In 1970, I went to work for Commercial Life (also in Halifax), and shortly thereafter I was transferred to their head office in Toronto where I managed the Toronto North Branch for almost a decade. My two kids, Andrea and Christopher were also born in Toronto before my wife Frankie and I came to our senses and moved back home to Nova Scotia with our young family in 1980.Once back in Nova Scotia, I managed the Halifax Branch of Commercial Life (later Halifax Life) until 1984 when I branched into the general insurance business by opening Baldwin Insurance Services in partnership with Frankie. Throughout my general insurance career I remained active in the life insurance business. I retired from Baldwin Insurance Services on my 65th birthday in May 2011; however, I continue to serve clients with Ray Fredericks Insurance in Bedford, NS. In my time away from the office I spend a lot of time on the golf course. I’m also a proud grandfather of five, and am keeping very busy.
