I am a well qualified, diligent and versatile industrial engineering professional with 25 years’ experience in engineering project design, manufacture and management in food processing, chemicals, shipping, mining, power, metal fabrication and welding. I am a qualified Mechanical Engineer and Fitter and Turner and completed my Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Business (Leadership and Management) in 2019 at the University of Newcastle. I have owned and managed Mechanical Fitting Services Pty Ltd at Speers Point, NSW, since January 2002.In my current role, I manage all engineering aspects and business aspects of a busy specialist mechanical maintenance contracting business servicing industry and manufacturing in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. I lead and supervise a team of Fitters, Boilermakers and Trades Assistants.I arrange and ensure regular and major periodic maintenance contract jobs, undertake insurance projects for clients and insurers, manage and supervise workplace health and safe working and ensure high quality product and service delivery to time and $ budgets.I liaise with client staff from factory workers to senior management to investigate and research problems and develop innovative solutions and provide long term engineering support for client factory operations. I also improve component design to increase efficiency in production and improve safety as well as design, build and install new equipment and refurbish and upgrade existing plant and equipment. I train, supervise, coach and mentor technicians, trades and client engineering staff and management.I work independently and collaborate with engineers, clients and subcontractors on project documentation and hands-on construction tasks. I have strong analytical skills to undertake and complete project tasks and have strong verbal, written communication and leadership ability. I have solid experience working with compliance with specifications, regulations and standards, effective time management, organizational and interpersonal skills and can work successfully in fast paced environments.I have very strong computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet as well as AutoCAD, Pro Engineer, MatLab, PLC and SCADA software systems plus MYOB. I have strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, develop designs and construct equipment, prepare client quotes and manage project costs.
