I have been in the painting and drywall business for 27 years. I started out at 18 years old as the grunt and worked so hard that my boss took me with him when he joined the union and took a new job. I tested out at the union as a 7th period apprentice after only 2 years of painting. I proceeded to work for Angeles Waterproofing and Painting and continued to go through the union school to get my journey mans card. I have done everything from commercial high rise work to track home work. When Angeles painting went through some changes and the union wasn't what it used to be I took a non union job with Galvin Painting and within two weeks was made a supervisor. I proceeded to work as a Foreman for about 8 yrs. I then got a Job offer from Pardee Homes after doing waterproofing repairs on 200 homes that had elastomeric paint problems from there production painters. I worked for Pardee Homes as a Customer Service Agent for a year when Bill Galvin from Galvin Painting called me and said they were struggling and lost a lot of there clients and wanted me to come back as a salesman/Project Manager. For those of you who knew Bill knows he was a good talker. Anyways I ended up going back to work for Galvin Painting and working hard and getting there clients back and using what I learned from my year of customer service to reconstruct how we take care of our customers.
