In this role, I became part of the Edge management team and built upon the skills developed from my Senior Developer role.At times leading three development teams, my most recent work has involved leading two.This period of time also covered high priority customer requirements for immediate go live deadlines.This role also required myself to also take part in interviewing for new team members and liaise with executive members of the company to co-ordinate development effort.Primary responsibilities- Line manage 6 to 13 direct reports- Manage the direction and vision of a team of software developers and test automation engineers- Liaise with stakeholders to implement and achieve customer requirements- Ensure adherence to Tribal standards- Drive quality by ensuring that latest best practice is adopted by the team in areas such as unit testing/code review and impact analysis.- Coach and develop team skills and knowledge of both the product and technologies, identifying skills gaps and proactively addressing these.Role Deliverables- Ensuring all software development activities carried out by the team are conducted efficiently and accurately, with full adherence to agreed overall architecture and software development standards- Committed deliverables are met, with any risk being communicated at the earliest possible date to the relevant stakeholders.- A drive for continuous improvement is evident in all areas of the team’s activity, with actions followed through.- Code reviews are completed as specified, and which assess code quality and flexibility- Ensuring the management team are able to access any information that is needed, in real time where necessary, and this information is always accurate.- The team is engaged, motivated and high-performing, with any skills gaps identified and a plan for addressing these prepared effectively and quickly.

As a senior developer at Tribalgroup I became part of the Edge SMS product team utilising many of the existing skills developed during my software development career and taking a lead role in coordination of the daily SCRUM activities in my Edge SMS product team. Taking on the role of SCRUM Master, I contributed with the development of Edge with .NET and Angular development technologies working closely with and assisting team members with working within the SCRUM framework.My primary responsibilities include: - Working with the delivery lead to help the team members by: o Guiding people with priorities o Re-directing resources when needed - Working with team members to allocate upcoming tasks based on business priority - Leading the development team as a SCRUM master - Developing the Edge product in line with business needsEdge SMS SCRUM master - Leading daily stand-ups o Co-ordinating the daily activities of my team and adjusting priorities where needed. o Identifying and removing barriers by assisting developers through ongoing feedback. - Co-ordinating upcoming sprints with the product owner and delivery lead - Working with team members to achieve effective goals within the scrum frameworkSoftware Development - Development of the Edge SMS product - Unit testing applications - Analysis and design of new and enhanced system functions Assisted in the development of the TCSI module of the EDGE SMS product. In this role I continued on my duties from my Software Engineer role and also became a member of the Senior Developer Group, tasked with development methodology changes and implementation of software development tools to aid staff in performing their project rolesPrimary Responsibilities- Provide Technical Leadership and direction on several company projects- Manage project development team and coordinate with BAs/ QAs/ Technical Writers & UI SpecialistParticipated in the Callista Communications Project.This new developments goal was to centralise how education institutions communicate with students.From communication primarily via letter, institutions communications methods have expanded to include email, SMS and messages via a student’s connection to the institution’s student management system.My primary role on this project was to develop the Communications Autonomous Process.This process enables end users to design and construct detailed, customisable and dynamic communication templates that can be updated in real time with information retrieved directly from the Callista Student Management System.Coupled with HTML styled formatting and PDF format options (including XSLT Stylesheets), the constructed and customised Communication can then be printed, emailed or sent via an SMS directly to the student.Items produced by the Autonomous Process can be created with changes to predefined key student data points or integrated within custom developments for end users.Other Duties- Became a member of the Senior Developer Group- Carry out client presentations and technical training (Callista Release Seminar)- Assist clients resolve critical issues and provide on-site and off-site support- Mentoring junior staff in company procedures and development practicesConferences- Attended Oracle Open World - San Francisco, California, USA October 2012

From early 2002 to 2003 I was located on site at Charles Darwin University (formally Northern Territory University) assisting with the implementation of the Callista SMS.My primary role was to design, develop and create the data migration for the Advanced Standing, Course and Unit versions, and Enrollments subsystems.Working on-site with the CDU Callista implementation team, I was given valuable insight into the real, on the ground work our customers perform on a daily basis.It also gave me the chance to see and work with a large established and respected University.
