About Greg Bolin

As an experienced, resourceful, and creative Application Programmer specializing in COBOL I am persistently asking myself "How can this process be made more efficient?" Technical Skills: COBOL II on an IBM OS/390 MVS mainframe, SQL, JCL, ISPF, CICS, IDEAL, RUDI, DBTS, DEBUG, CA7, DELIVER, RACF, DATACOM, DB2, MQseries, JavaScript, HTML, and many more including the usual suite of Microsoft desktop applications such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, etc.I have been working as a COBOL Application Programmer in the Seattle area ever since I got my degree in Computer Science. I take pride in having worked for three very prominent local companies (Boeing, Northern Life, and Group Health. During my career I have been involved in the full gamut of the software development life cycle. From requirements gathering and working directly with end-users, to designing databases and tables and working directly with the DBA’s. I pride myself on continually asking how a process could be made more efficient, either for the programmer, system resources, or the end-user. I am also very keen on keeping documentation up-to-date and clear to read.
