I was responsible for managing the collection, processing, accessibility, integrity and security of the GIS, database and exploration data for the North American regional office of AngloAmerican, as well as providing support and contributing to the global digitization projects around the globe. As the data manager, my role was providing the technical expertise, guidance and frontline support to the geoscientists to enable them better access to clean, secure and timely data. I was responsible for the IT systems architecture and software that ensures that the data is in effective usable formats to underpin the exploration efforts of the various teams.

As an expert Excel and Access user, I have written VBA (Visual Basic) macros for use in the field logging environment, where, for whatever reason, acQuire was not able to be deployed.• Training and Support: Training of the field and corporate office staff in the use of the software. (both in acQuire and MapInfo); and providing “help desk” support.• Exploration Program Flowline development - from initial data capture, QAQC procedures, mapping and modelling through to final 43-101 compliant reporting• Map Production and Reporting: General day to day map production (using MapInfo and Encom Discover) and automation of the exploration process flow using customized MapBasic scripts. Although King and Bay are primarily MapInfo users I have also used ESRI ArcGIS as and when the need arises.• 3D Modelling: (using leapfrog 3D and Datamine).All of the companies listed above maintain acQuire databases which are hosted and managed from the Vancouver office of King and Bay.

DSM Geodata is an Indian based GIS and database outsourcing company, focusing on Geospatial Data capture and database maintenance (Mapping, Photogrammetry and GIS). Clients include large state and private corporations such as Natural Resources of Canada, City of Vancouver and Ordnance Survey UK.Roles and responsibilities:• Managed the My role at DSM Geodata was GIS / Database team manager in the Scotland head office; and subsequently, as • Regional Project Manager in Canada. I was responsible for flowline development, database management, quality plans for large mapping database contracts, schedules and quality assurance.While at DSM, I developed a Microsoft Access Database for internal project management within the company, which significantly assisted the management team in managing projects over multiple sites and production centres.

Built and managed the corporate GIS / Database and Mapping department in the head office in Harare. The role comprised: • Exploration Process Flowline: development of the exploration processes and data flow lines;• Procurement: sourced the correct staff, hardware and software; • Mapping and GIS: provided GIS and office based mapping and database services both to head office staff as well as the field geologists.• Training: GIS training of office and field staff

New Mineral Development (NMD) was a small geological consulting company contracted by Ashanti Goldfields to run their Zambian Gold exploration program. • set up and managed the field exploration program; including camp and staff management, all procurement, exploration activities, borehole mapping and logging, soil sampling and the analysis of the chemical results. • relocated to Ashanti Head office at the end of 2008 Ashanti, in order to set up their corporate database and GIS department.

Provided office based support to the exploration geologists in the two companies as part of the Geochemistry department.My role comprised:• Exploration Program Field Support: Supported the field staff for numerous worldwide exploration sites; by providing database, geochemical and GIS support as required. My role included software implementation; and onsite training of the field geologists.• Corporate database maintenance: Configured and maintained the corporate GIS database for worldwide exploration activities.• Map Production • Field Office set up: Set up and managed the east African exploration program in Tanzania and Kenya, including procurement of staff, hardware, software and required local services.
