I am a husband, father, and information security leader with experience in data privacy, security governance, risk management, vendor management, and security compliance. My belief is that any organization's strengths are founded in its employees and the relationship built with those employees. Strong leadership is key and requires accountability, integrity, discipline, extending and accepting trust, and practicing empathy.I have practiced information security since 2001 when first introduced to the concept in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence school. Since that time, I have worked with U.S. Army Space Command, U.S. Air Force Space Command, NASA, The Federal Reserve System, and management consulting engagements in the corporate sector. In each of these areas I had responsibility for elements of privacy, security governance, risk management, and security compliance.In my current role, I am the Deputy Privacy Officer, responsible for risk management of the Information Security Program, and oversee the development and activities of the compliance program. Compliance and governance frameworks from which I pull experience include NIST, PCI, COSO, COBIT, and ITIL.
