I earned a B.S. in Marketing from Susquehanna University. I previously worked for Sprint as the National Partnership Marketing Manager & was encouraged to strike out on my own & start a technology expense management firm.In 1987, I founded Teldata Control, Inc. & led operations of the company as managing partner & CEO. The firm achieved expansion from a start-up to an enterprise with more than $32M in revenues & 270 employees. During my tenure, I managed over $7B of telecom expenses & $45M in profitable revenue. After my son was diagnosed with autism in 2002, I began to research & devote my time learning about autism & related therapies. My wife & I opened the doors to The Uncommon Thread (TUT) in 2007. TUT is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children diagnosed with autism & other behavioral disorders. Since its inception, I have utilized my business & technology background to grow TUT beyond its walls & have expanded the organization’s reach to support school, home & medical communities. For over 10 years, I have been providing educational Grand Rounds at dozens of hospitals in NJ, including Children’s Specialized Hospital & Morristown Memorial Hospital. Identifying the use of researched based ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy as the best hope for positive developmental outcomes for children on the spectrum, has been the hallmark of my labor at TUT. I have worked to coordinate the efforts of families, doctors, State Care Units, & school districts to ensure the implementation of these programs steeped in the science of ABA.My work continues with an effort involving a community outreach program to local camps offering children with autism a chance to learn concepts & social skills in typical settings. My larger vision is to utilize & expand on technologies to improve professional effectiveness & efficiencies which will keep school districts & medical facilities at the cutting edge while making the most of increasingly limited resources for autism treatment.

FounderThe Uncommon Thread Jan 2007 - Present1031 Valley Road Stirling Nj 07080The Uncommon Thread (TUT) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the lives of New Jersey children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Since 2007, The Uncommon Thread has been providing the highest quality ABA services and support in our centers, in the home, in school districts, in private preschools and in the community. Our mission is to help our clients reach their greatest potential. The Uncommon Thread is not a destination, but rather a pathway to a more independent life. Improved outcomes and the commitment of our founders set us apart. Our Vision:Families face an ever present disconnect in the fight to save their child from communication and behavioral disorders which impede the learning process. Often frustrated and feeling helpless, parents can become immobilized in their effort to navigate the waters of early intervention. The Uncommon Thread has created an environment where early intervention becomes a comprehensive, cohesive strategy between parents, specialists, therapists, and educators in order to team up and fight the debilitating affects that occur with children who have learning differences. Our Philosophy:At The Uncommon Thread, we believe in early intervention, thoughtfully constructed programs, and a collaborative team approach implemented in a holistic environment. Our team consists of experienced professionals who have witnessed and believe in the positive outcomes of early intervention programs. An appropriate early intervention program can significantly improve the quality of life for a child with developmental and behavioral disorders. However, there is a narrow window of opportunity in which implementing a program can create the highest impact. These children don’t learn in the same way that typical developing children learn. For this reason it is imperative to devise methods of teaching that develop and strengthen the skills necessary for natural learning to take place. -
