More than 40 years of broad infrastructure experience as a professional engineer including with a world class infrastructure agency and a substantial portfolio of international development assistance projects at specialist and team leader level, providing a comprehensive base of expertise across a range of infrastructure-related functions and projects at policy, strategy, technical and operational levels.Internationally, has been the driving force in a number of successful infrastructure sector projects in Team Leader and specialist roles. For example, the Fiji Road Safety Action Plan (in the in-country project manager role) was rated as “extremely successful” and remains a case study in the Asian Development Bank’s Road Safety Guidelines. In summary, these projects are characterised by the application of both personal and team expertise in the local context and in direct response to local needs and capabilities, rather than the direct application of a textbook or first-world solution or outcome.The capabilities and expertise applied in international development assistance work have been highly developed through a range of management-level operational and policy roles within VicRoads. Although a professional engineer by qualification, the same capacities evident in the international development assistance work to have been demonstrated to successfully lead organisational change in diverse and challenging areas such as information technology.
