    As a Community Engagement Specialist for Community Action Partnership (CAP) Sonoma's Healthy Communities Department I am working to reduce high risk drinking and DUI crash and related fatalities in the Santa Rosa area through evidence-based social marketing campaigns. I coordinate a comprehensive intervention visibility campaign involving media, events and partnership building to fulfill the goals of a Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG) from the US federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The overall goal of the grant is to improve community high risk drinking prevention efforts by developing a systematic approach to prevention that will facilitate the adoption of evidence-based prevention strategies and their effective implementation. As a part of this grant I:• Co-founded and coordinate The Santa Rosa Safe Community Initiative in partnership with Santa Rosa Police Department and the City of Santa Rosa.• Manage Responsible Beverage Service promotion through business establishment visitations, event participation and advertising campaigns.• Conduct quarterly Recognize and Remind operations with Santa Rosa Junior College Police Cadet volunteers in visits to local alcohol on and off sale establishments to encourage I.D. checking.• Represent CAP on the Sonoma County Prevention Partnership and Alcohol subcommittee- a multi-agency group whose mission is “to enhance the wellbeing of our community by working collaboratively to develop population level strategies to address alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.”• Coordinate a comprehensive social marketing campaign focused on DUI enforcement visibility through radio, television, social media and event hosting and participation.• Fulfill monthly and quarterly SPF-SIG grant reporting requirements of the California Department of Health Care Services.
