Perform configuration changes, security policy add/removes, NAT policy changes, troubleshooting, and remediation of approximately 236 Palo Alto and 80 Cisco ASA firewalls that are part of network protection suites located across a large geographically distributed network supporting military health facilities globally. Responsible for continuous and ongoing support of the DHA Military Health facilities and clinics for problems encountered with the Network Protection Suite.Work to quickly resolve operational issues in a complex, large scale, geographically distributed, critical network security environment.Experience using network management tools such as Splunk, MobaX, HPNA, and Wireshark to resolve connection issues.Drive incident and problem resolution by leveraging strengths of other support groups as needed to identify actions which will lead to resolution of operational issues.Migrate Defense Health Agency Programs of Record and other essential programs, end users, medical modalities, and facilities to the DHA Palo Alto firewall within the Network Protection Suite leveraging the remote telework VPN and after-hours support. Ensure connectivity and reliability of the network by maintaining the Layer 2 and Layer 3 switched infrastructure according to continuous evolving requirements; creating and editing IP access-lists, port security, VLAN assignments, IP routes additions, trunk and port-channel configuration etc. Provide continuous technical support for end users, system admins, network admins, vendors, project coordinators to recommend and implement approved course of action relating to the network infrastructure configuration, connectivity, and security posture.

Management of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switch interfaces (physical ports). Involvements include the re-configuration of ports to match the requirement; access list configuration, maintenance, verification, and troubleshooting. Configuring port security, IP routes to routing table and VRF’s according to security best practices and network requirements. Performing STIG operations on new devices. Configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of AAA using Cisco ACS, Tacacs, and Radius protocols across various platforms used throughout the Military Health Systems network scope. Perform packet capture analysis to remedy routing and connectivity issues using packet capture configuration, Wireshark packet inspection, and Splunk best practices across various platforms to include Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper Integrated Security Gateway's, and Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances.

Perform Pre-installation, Test and Checkout procedures of Juniper J-Series, MX-Series routers; Cisco 38XX, 65XX, 76XX routers, Catalyst switches utilized in Campus and Core designs for cross-domain classified network access located in Army, Navy, and Air Force installations globally.Upgrade and configure TACLANE hardware encryption devices.Perform configuration backups, IOS, and firmware upgrades, password recovery using FTP and TFTP. Configure and confirm redundancy of Juniper/Cisco high-availability routing and switching platforms.Provide on-site support to Regional Service Center Lead Engineers for configuration issues.OSP Fiber Plant installation, fusion splicing, and testing for European Command and Operations Center; EUCOM.
