In this time period, a major equipment supplier had contracted with them the assembly and test of one of their products, and I was hired to make the transition.• Coordinated a team of UCT assembly and test technicians through a training period at the customer site. Trained hands-on with the team, and wrote a 50 page illustrated assembly procedure, or OMS.• Transferred the operation from the customer’s facility to UCT in Menlo Park, and managed the production schedule of the next 15 units over 6 months, eventually transferring the operation again to UCT Shanghai.• Ran weekly meetings with the customer at their site, driving project related action items concerning a number of functional groups, including Materials, Sales, QA, Production Control, and Manufacturing.

This included Lam Rainbow 4400, 4500, isotropic etch, and 4600.• Designed assembly Bills of Materials to lower manufacturing time and costs, using intimate knowledge of how the production floor worked, and outsourcing strategies. • Worked with suppliers on manufacturability and cost reduction of machined parts such as vacuum chambers. In addition, worked with Supplier Quality Engineers and Buyers to conduct supplier surveys and qualify new suppliers under a Total Quality Management (TQM) system.• Supervised teams of technicians and other engineers to prototype build and document new technology.
