I still do networking including working with various wireless technologies (almost exclusively Cisco now), routing and switching except now I am also working with UCM setting up and deploying voice over IP phones as well.

 Daily routines involved fixing/troubleshooting outages and coordinating moves and planning network schemes for new sites\datacenters. Planning and implementing new networks and coordinating hardware\software needs\set up multilayer switches\routers. Have done most everything involving networking from DSL, cable, metro-e and LAN networks utilizing VLANs on multilayer Cisco switches. Proficient with IOS, and setting up and troubleshooting VLANs, trunking, and core, distribution and access layer switching. Familiar with and have implemented access lists on Cisco layer 3 switches (work daily with 4507s with redundant supervisor engines, 4900s, 3750’s, , 2960s). Regularly do networking upgrades like IOS, switch firmware, upgrade supervisor engines etc. Familiar with most routing protocols. Regularly design network schemes for new networks. Also currently implementing VOIP (Cisco UCM on UCS) with all Cisco endpoints (7945’s, 7965’s, 9951’s) and infrastructure. Familiar with most functions of Cisco routers\switches and have implemented networks with Cisco switches utilizing NAT, DHCP, VLANs, static routing, dynamic routing, VPN tunnels, teaming\ether channel, SPAN, VOIP VLANs, secondary VLANs, VTP etc. Regularly update and design complex network drawings utilizing Microsoft Visio.
