About Greg Hines

30 years experience with power turbines and centrifugal compressors for oil and gas and power generation markets. My background started at entry level mechancial drafting to highly complex 3D models, detail drawings and assemblies to checking drawings. My next career move was to power turbine design where I designed turbine parts, assemblies and tooling. I was responsible for communicating design intent to drafting using 3D CAD models and layout drawings. I was a designer on 2 new power turbine development programs and lead designer for the Rolls Royce Trent Phase 3 power turbine development. My next position was application engineer focusing primarly on power turbine upgrades and overhauls of the Rolls Royce 50 year old fleet. I engineered overhaul kits, upgrades and create bills of material to meet the customers specifications and expectations. My current responsibilities of Component Design Engineer require me to design, model and layout blade, vanes, casing and other highly technical hot section components of the power turbine using NX and Teamcenter. I am also technical lead for other power turbine project for new units and aftermarket. High proficiency with manufacturing methods and technics. Also knowledgeable with thermal analysis, component stressing and lifing, rotor dynamics and hydrodynamic bearings.

I am also technical lead for other power turbine project for new units and aftermarket. I hold design reviews with less experienced designers and contract designers. Manage drafting resourcing and setting drafting priorities with the resource managers. High proficiency with manufacturing methods and technics. Also knowledgeable with thermal analysis, component stressing and lifing, rotor dynamics and hydrodynamic bearings. Over 15,000 hours of NX experience up to version 10 and Teamcenter 10. Currently moving to Teamcenter 11 PLM.
