Track Superintendent:Develop, maintain and ensure the integrity & safety of both the dirt & turf racing surfaces. Oversee all track maintenance staff (28), stable area (1200 stalls) repair and maintenance services and approx 400 acres of property; including a 100 Mil Gal Irrigation Lake. Responsible for administration of all material purchases, inventory, overseeing contracts & budgeting. Total departmental budget in excess of over $3 Mil a yr.Facility Maintenance:Responsible for Facility Operations totaling over 1.5 Mil sq ft. Plan, budget, direct & oversee the maintenance & operation of the facilities, including all mechanical, plumbing & electrical systems. Oversee a dept of 12 and an add'l budget in excess of $3 Mil a yr.Budget-mgmt skills including annual budget, cost estimating, & budget organization with proven history of significant cost savings. Exceptional experience managing, directing, and supervising staff. Recognized by mgmt for reducing hourly over time.Overall: Able to effectively respond to safety and emergency situations, as well as diagnose, trouble-shoot, identify defects/malfunctions, and formulate timely, effective, seamless solutions for all issues for track surfaces & facilities.Interact with other Department Heads (25) and Executive Mgmt as needed regarding all areas of operations & marketing events. Participate in regular meetings with Horsemen; including prominent owners, to address and solve any concerns relating to the racing surfaces or barn area.Achievements: Hired as part of the original opening team in 1994 and quickly promoted from the position of Track Operator, to Asst Track Superintendent to Director of Track Operations in three years with the addition of Facility Operations in 2008. The Turf & Dirt Tracks at SHRP are nationally recognized by leading Horse Owners, Jockeys, Trainers & Industry Peers as one of the best in the Country. Under my direction SHRP has the only removable turf crossing in the country.

Contracted by the parent company; Penn Gaming to improve the safety of the dirt racing surface. Injuries to the horses was reduced by 70%. This was accomplished by renovating the racing surface and adding new materials plus hiring a team that was as passionate about safety of the racing surface as I am. This Consultant position was done in conjunction with my existing responsibilities at Sam Houston Race Park.

Oversaw the day-to-day operations of a nationally known sport horse training and boarding facility. • Managed the repairs and upkeep of 20 acres with 45 stalls, 4 barns, large covered arena, outdoor arena, and other miscellaneous buildings.• Initiate routine maintenance program on all farm equipment and vehicles resulting in a 70% decrease in service related expenses.• Developed numerous new systems to make every aspect of horse care and farm management more economical.• Directed and assisted in planning special events such as seminars, clinics, national and internationally recognized horse shows.• Balanced and budgeted farm accounts, invoiced clients and handled payroll.• Personally performed most new construction and repairs to be more economical and profitable to the farm.• Designed and built specialized equipment to meet event requirements and the facility’s needs.Achievements: During this time frame, Shiron Farms operated at a profit in the boarding of horses alone by increasing its occupancy by 150%.
