Lead Engineer
CurrentAs an employee of Jensen Hughes, I provide design engineering, risk assessment evaluations and project support in the commercial and nuclear industries.I am currently working on the design of the Sodium Processing System for the TerraPower Natrium reactor. This includes creation and development of system documents:-Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)-Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)-Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)-SSC Classification / Defense Lines / Safety functions-Design Basis Document (DBD)-Equipment and Assembly Design Specifications-Fill and Drain OperationsI have prepared Surveillance Test Interval (STI) evaluations for the Surveillance Frequency Control Programs for numerous nuclear power plants. The STI evaluations are completed in accordance with NEI 04-10 to extend the frequency at which surveillance tests are performed on plant equipment. These evaluations include a review of licensing documents, commitments, test performance history, reliability analysis, industry events, and regulatory guides and standards.I provided HVAC engineering for various projects including explosion prevention ventilation designs for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and building temperature evaluations.I was involved with many of the Diverse and Flexible Coping Strategies (FLEX) projects at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant. Responsible engineer for Monticello’s plant response to the NRC’s Fukushima 50.54(f) letter which involved re-analysis of seismic and flooding hazards at the site against present-day NRC requirements and guidance. Supported FLEX implementation to meet NRC order EA-12-049 and assisted the Hardened Containment Venting System (HCVS) plant modifications to meet NRC order EA-13-109.
