Yacht technician in the service department. The role involved systems trouble shooting and repair and custom parts manufacturing and installation

Birch Marine Inc. is a mobile marine service company based in Boston, MA. As a Yacht Maintenance Technician, I am responsible for troubleshooting issues and repairing damaged components throughout the yachts systems including rigging, electrical, and plumbing. As a team, we install high end electronics such as radar and satellite receivers and integrate them into the onboard computer systems. Additionally, I am responsible for cosmetic maintenance including detailed cleaning and washing and waxing the yacht exterior.

The Berkeley Marine Center is a full service boatyard on San Francisco Bay providing maintenanceand equipment installations for recreational vessels and custom composite boat construction. Fiberglass technician duties included mold construction, vacuum infusion, wet layup. We built and repaired a variety of composite parts from small panels to boat hulls. I also assisted in the installation of marine systems such as bow thrusters, fish finders, through hulls.

California Canoe & Kayak is the largest paddlesports outfitter and program on the West Coast. As Assistant Manager I lead day to day operations and rentals of the Oakland store while overseeing the logistics of stock transfers to other branches. Occasionally, I instructed basic kayaking skills including on-water safety, rescues, and boat control. I also supported the logistics and planning for Paddle Golden Gate kayaking symposium, CCK’s flagship event.

Nat was a tech start up that researches, plans, and books outdoor experiences. While at Nat, I lead product development of custom trips and activities for strategic geographical markets in the Bay Area. I Applied insight from customer relationship management software to fulfill user requests in real time based on preferences and history.

BHIA is a non-profit group dedicated to public access, facilities improvement, and program development. Throughout the summer I developed guide for 12 paddle routes in the Boston Harbor Islands Recreation Area. Included in the guide were route directions, natural and cultural narrative, safety concerns, recommended equipment lists, and local rules and regulations.
