Providing an engineering reliability consultancy service to manage the reliability performance of various heavy industry located mainly within the NSW Hunter valley. - Utilising plant performance and condition data to optimise maintenance and operations resources for sustainable business performance. - Challenging the status quo of maintenance activity, operations performance and plant condition data to provide leading indicators for business improvement. - Working with business managers to benchmark their organisations for reliability success and to develop Reliability plans to close identified gaps with measurable KPI's. - Implementing reliability based condition management programs that don't just "track" equipment failure, but change the business to address the leading indicators to "prevent" equipment failure.- Providing high end diagnostic and engineering services for recurrent "poor" performing plant. Working across Arrium as part of a team of senior reliability engineers within the Arrium Operational Excellence group that has governance of the reliability performance of the entire Arrium Business. • Responsible for the identification and practical implementation of reliability projects within various plants to improve performance and capability. • Deployment and implementation of best practice maintenance and asset management tools.• Identification of high cost or poor performing equipment and processes and deploying improvement strategies.• Ensuring capital projects are designed and installed to minimise life cycle costs and meet business objectives.• Engaging key stakeholders in the challenge of reliability improvement and building capability to ensure success.• Training and coaching operators and trades in best practice maintenance and reliability.• Secondments into hands on business roles to improve maintenance and reliability performance. • Conduct major root cause failure analysis (RCFA).• Monitor performance and process parameters on business critical equipment to improve capacity and minimise likelihood of a major failure.

Responsible for the overall management of the electrical and mechanical teams as they provide maintenance, repair and installation services for the Council’s electrical and mechanical assets including water system, sewerage system, buildings, lighting and other facilities.Key responsibilities: Manage a team of 43 tradespeople and apprentices to provide an effective and efficient mechanical and electrical operations and maintenance service.  Manage the electrical & mechanical operations and maintenance budget ($4.5 million) to ensure operations, maintenance, repair and installation works are completed according to budget forecasts. Develop operational procedures that optimise asset life and maximise production in both the water and sewerage pumping systems. Foster a team environment that encourages ingenuity and responsibility. Provide technical direction and support to Council and staff in all electrical issues. Develop and implement Risk and Asset Management strategies for the Councils electrical and mechanical assets.
