The Community Action Board (CAB) is the Citizen Advisory Board to the County of San Diego and the Health and Human Services Agency on Community Action Partnership (CAP) programs.As required by the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Act, CAB is a tripartite board with board members representing three important sectors.I serve as the Economically Disadvantaged Sector alternate member for North County: Residents representing economically disadvantaged communities throughout San Diego County.

The Food Policy Council’s primary goals are to assess and support the creation of strategies, plans, and programs to assure there is adequate food to sustain the residents of North County on a daily basis and during times of disaster and interruption in the food delivery system. The Council works to increase accessibility to existing food sources, augment the existing food system, increase collaboration between all organizations working on food security and advocate for positive changes in public policy affecting access to food.Leading GIS initiatives that benefit San Diego regional nonprofits, families, and government agencies.

Equation Collaborative was founded to strengthen communities by creating and managing programs that work alongside community partners to increase capacity, access, and opportunity. As Director of Strategic Partnerships, my responsibilities include:-Develop and manage relationships with +BOX strategic partners, including school distribution partners, suppliers, vendors, and nutrition security system collaborators-Act as liaison between +BOX and community partners to support programmatic and fundraising efforts -Support ED on strategic planning, community engagement, and sustainability analysis-Manage major projects, including a multi-year USDA-funded study, involving survey design and collection, analysis, and focus group moderation-Develop and execute a new fundraising strategy-Refine the +BOX story, messaging, and external communications-Advise the Executive Director on program development, external relations, and fundraising-Engage with the Board of Directors regarding fundraising and network building-Support program operations

As a part of the curriculum, students of the Master's of Nonprofit Leadership and Management program complete pro-bono team consulting projects for many nonprofits. I completed consultation projects for the following organizations.San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative - Created a membership model, including sample membership model structures, transition timeline, financial projection, and potential member list.Prison Yoga Project - Completed a financial analysis and provided templates and feedback for future bookkeeping, projections, and activities.Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego - Completed a needs assessment for community capacity for an LGBTQ+ youth-mentoring program. Utilized Saul Alinsky's Consensus Organizing Model to create recommendations.Ackermann Foundation - Served as a program manager for the Foundation in the process of reviewing grants, completing site visits, analyzing finances, and recommending finalists to the Board for the awarding of $20,000 in grants.Elementary Institute of Science - Evaluated EIS' Teen STEAM Cafe program by completing a needs assessment, designing a new program, and evaluating the potential program. The program design included a logic model, work plan and timeline, literature review, and a social marketing plan.San Diego Public Library Foundation - Analyzed the fundraising and marketing structure of the Foundation, focusing on the member model. Our team provided an example case for support, a strategy for developing new major gift donors, and a foundational grant assessment.Center for Sustainable Energy - Developed a toolkit for new managers, which included research-supported practices for manager behaviors, coaching, meeting, developing, and supporting team-members.San Diego Pride - Reviewed and recommended updates to the organization's bylaws to reflect the changes that had occurred in the organization since the previous version had been written.

Utilizing GIS tools, I worked with Dr. Marcus Lam to research health-care providers and their patients with the goal of ensuring localized care for individuals in Southern California. Additionally, I served as Dr. Lam's teaching assistant for the class Advanced Research Topics: GIS, a class offered to graduate students of SOLES.With the Office of Financial Aid, I provided secure, personalized, and compassionate support for students and families. We utilized Salesforce and Ellucian's Banner to manage and record data and information for our students.
