I worked as a travelling representative for LiNK. My unpaid internship began in January where I spent the first six weeks studying, training, and calling potential venues to book events for our tour. My unpaid internship began in January where I spent the first six weeks studying, training, and calling potential venues to book events for our tour. The next ten weeks were spent travelling in a van with my two teammates around the Northeastern United States and Lower Canada giving presentations to large audiences at universities, colleges, high schools, places of worship, and other venues to educate on the North Korea crisis and to inspire people to action. While on tour we had varied duties and working environments. We set goals to inspire people to think differently about North Korea, fund-raise, recruit volunteers, and create rescue teams (a fundraising club). I worked / lived with my teammates in close quarters and often times under stressful conditions. We had frequent team meetings to voice any concerns and discussed ways that we could improve our work. We also worked, stayed, and maintained relationships with a wide variety of people and personalities. Show less
