I started as a volunteer with MPYD mentoring and lecturing to young males about what is means to be male and how we are capable of becoming the best versions of what is possible. The current generation has to deal with a whole new set of problems and issues because of exposure to more things at an early age. Violence is a normal part of life as portrayed on the national and local news daily. Social Media allows them deeper access into personal lives of others globally, drugs, gangs, sex and the like is openly exposed to them and at many times they are not trained by adults how to deal with such matters. If our youth are learning from each other that is a very scary thought to face. We must take the lead and teach our children how to deal with the world they face with all these new technological changes. First adults must train themselves before they can train their children. We are a male mentoring doing what is necessary to give our young males guidance in the world they face today.

this organization was founded for the purpose of getting males to come together as a group and discuss some of our common issues and problems such as parenting, marriage, health issues, dealing with conflicts, accountability and responsibility issues and the like. In a group setting more males find that they have more in common with each other rather than living out on an island. The thing that makes us men is what gives us our commonality just as the things that make women, women is what makes them act or re-act in similar ways. Once males come to terms with that fact they are eager to express themselves and in a sense feel relieved. The motto was 'Men Helping Men to Become Better Men." It works!
