Greg was seconded from Aurecon Sydney to Aurecon Western Australia, to assist Aurecon manage for Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) their Wickham Accommodation Expansion Project, in the Pilbara, 1,600kms North West of Perth. Greg’s role was deputy Project Manager and the Technical Area Package Manager for the delivery of the $494M Stage 1 expansion project.Greg’s role included the leadership and delivery of the following business units within the wider EPCM project space:• Engineering Design Management• Contract Management: - Scope of work, technical drawings, conditions of contact, management of all extension of time claims, liquidated damages, site instructions and variations management• Controls Management: - time & cost measurement, lean reporting & documentation management• Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems• Project Management• Construction ManagementGreg has lead the following packages as the EPCM –Technical Area Package Manager for Rio Tinto:Cajuput $35M152-bed room Fly in Fly out (FIFO) prefabricated accommodation delivery by Hutchinson Builders.Wickham Lodge $50M198 - Bed room Fly in Fly out FIFO facility, manufactured in China, delivery via a D&C methodology by Diploma Construction.Central Facilities Building $38MThis facility is delivered by Broad Constructions and accommodates 4,500sqm of kitchens, dining halls, gymnasium and transit lounge.Town Site Power Upgrade $6MZone 3 Substation $12MThis package of work consisted of the importation of 2 x 10MVA transformers from Germany, plus the procurement of 33kVa switchgear from China and 11kVa switchgear from Taiwan, factory acceptance testing, precommissioning and transportation to site via air and sea, clearance at AQIS and interfaced back to RTIO’s remote operating centre in Perth. Design and construct package by ABB.Civil Subdivision, $65MDelivery by Brierty, this scope comprised the inter-allotment civil subdivision for a 212 housing lots.
