Profile bio

About Greg Oliver

I am an environmental professional with over 25 years in the resource industry with extensive experience environmental approvals in the oil and gas and the mining sectors in WA and the NT. I have held Team and Group Leadership positions and have experience in the development of internal capability to meet organisational needs for effective and successful environmental management, approvals and compliance. In 2023, I undertook a short period with Santos as Environmental Approvals Lead for the Barossa Project – which proposes the development of an offshore gas facility, processing and delivering gas to the existing Darwin LNG facility.Since 2019 I have focused primarily on the mining industry, working for Karara Mining (Mid-West, WA) Nathan River Resources (NT) and for MinRes (Pilbara, Yilgarn and Mid-West WA). In these roles, I have provided team leadership, operational support, traditional owner, community and regulatory engagement and undertaken a range of environmental approvals. In the MinRes roles I have been focused on the scoping and execution of supporting studies and in the technical writing of approval documents as a team member without management responsibilities. Prior to this I spent 11 years as Environmental Manger for INPEX’s Ichthys LNG Project based in the Kimberley region of WA and in the Northern Territory. I was responsible for all environmental aspects for the project from the concept stage onwards. My role required me to recruit and support a diverse environmental team of over 25 people at peak, to address, project design, approvals, science and monitoring, construction and operations.I spent 13 years as an environmental specialist and manager in Woodside Energy providing broad support for major projects, exploration, management system development and improvements.Having been involved in all aspects of oil and gas and mining sector activities, I have a unique set of capabilities which may benefit any company associated with the resource industry.

Listed skills include Risk Assessment, Environmental Management Systems, Environmental Compliance, Environmental Policy, and 19 others.
