I began my career in financial services working at a foreclosure law firm in South Jersey. During this time I was also working towards obtaining my B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University. Following graduation, I began working as a mortgage underwriter and was eventually promoted to Underwriting Team Lead and then Underwriting Manager. During my time in the mortgage industry, I developed extensive experience underwriting Conventional, VA IRRR and FHA loans. Working in the wholesale division allowed me to develop excellent customer service and negotiation skills in a deadline-driven and high-stress environment. During my time away from the mortgage industry, I obtained a Certificate from the Rutgers Web Development "Bootcamp" and learned several coding languages including, but not limited to: HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, and SQL. During this period, I built over 20 functional applications and worked on 3 collaborative projects. Learning how to design and program web applications increased my analytical and problem-solving skills exponentialy, and has greatly benefited me as a financial services professional. I am currently seeking opportunities in mortgage underwriting and entry-level insurance underwriting roles.
