CurrentSince 1995 - run day-to-day operations of the business seeing that the facility and procedures are safe, bills are paid, employers are happy, and customers are satisfied. Over the years I've hired and trained employees; created work schedules; booked parties and special events; seen that customers properly fill out and submit a waiver; entered waivers and customer information and memberships into the database (or see that it's done); responsible for payroll; order or pick up supplies; order and sell retail items including gym t-shirts, maintain gym equipment, ropes, and routes; set new climbing routes; open and close facility; oversee repairs of AC system and anything else that is compromised; regular safety check of all ropes and hardware associated with anchors; regular safety checks of auto-belay systems; re-supply vending machines; see that bathrooms and entire gym is clean; check security camera footage; create and maintain gym programs such as meet-ups, camps, after-school programs; arrange for and pay liability and health insurance; support community climbing organization (i.e., Boat Rock and Southeastern Climbers Coalition) as well as national (i.e., Reel Rocks Tour, Climbing Wall Association, and Access Fund); hired coaches and summer camp directors; coached youth climbing team for years; belayed and taught thousands of customers how to climb; reviewed and submitted information for business website; posted to gym Facebook account; organized many local and national climbing competitions; and always put safety and customers first! We also had a portable climbing wall called Rocks-on-the-Roll for many years. I was responsible for taking the wall to special events, running, and maintaining it.
