Headline responsibilities at current project stage: - Manage team skills and resources ensuring the various blocks and packages are suitably resourced. Recruit new talent as necessary. Motivate, coach and develop the technical team.- Monitor project design team performance and hold parties accountable for delivery against programme and quality of information.- Uphold design standards and compliance to the client design brief. - Problem solve and unlock key risks on the project including statutory approvals.- Support the procurement and onward management of sub-contractors including VE proposals, site queries, non-conformances and direct management of specialist design packages.- Fulfil the Principal Designer role, conducting duties in line with the CDM regulations.- Report effectively to Directors on project progress, risks and key issues.- Monitor and control payments against the approved fee budget and update the monthly fee report. - Liaise effectively with other members of the senior project management team. Aside from these project-focused responsibilities I mentor junior staff from other offices and actively support the wider business. Project: King’s Road Park – Phase 3. (as STM role above)In 2023, focused on leading the internal and external teams to achieve timely production of detailed design packages and third party approvals. Navigated major legislative changes (2nd staircases) by managing impacts to the design programme, controlling fee expenditure against the approved budget and addressing consultant scope variations as appropriate. In 2022, led the consultant team to RIBA Stage 3 design completion which included significant scheme optimisation. Personally presented this design to the St William Board to achieve sign-off and facilitate the project cost plan. Secured pre-commencement Planning condition discharges and supported contractor procurement. Recruited staff to expand my internal technical team from two to six.In 2021, provided Technical input to the Development team ahead of the Reserved Matters planning application. Concurrently wrote the client detailed design brief and then tendered, selected and appointed a Post-Planning consultant design team within an approved budget for commencement of design in January 2022.
