Began my career with the Chicago Police Department in 1977. Started out in patrol and subsequently was moved to a district tactical unit. In 1987, I was promoted to Youth Officer and assigned to the former Area 3 Youth Division. In this unit I was assigned to what was referred to as a "Crime Car". My responsibility was to investigate sexual and physical Child Abuse Hotline cases. In 1989, I was then promoted to the position of Security Specialist and was assigned to the Government Security Detail, specifically for the personal protection of Chicago's mayor. In 1997, I returned to the Youth Division as an Investigator until my retirement in 2000.I received several certifications and awards from the Chicago Police Department.I still remain a retired member of the Chicago PD's Peer Support Program, helping officers in distress.In 1985, I began working part-time security for Trade Shows and special events. I worked for a now defunct security agency and in 1996 I opened my own company, The Security Management Group of America, Inc. which specialized in Trade Show/Special Event security operations and management. The company eventually became a leading provider of this service grossing $6,000,000.00 in annual sales. I have made presentations to various trade show related groups in regards to security for this specific area. I was a member of the inaugural IAEE security task force group post 9/11, McCormick Place (Chicago, IL) security task force and I have addressed a related group PCMA, on security related issues and was named as a 2013 Expo Honoree.In 2012 I moved to the Village of Lyons, IL Eventually I was appointed to the Village's Zoning Brd of Appeals Comm. and in 2015 I was appointed to the Village Board of Trustees.In 2016, I opened up Lincoln Security Training Academy for those who need to be trained and licensed in order to work as a security guard in the State of Illinois.I am also the Executive Vice President for Lincoln Security Services, LLC
