Greg is a Partner in the Building, Construction and Infrastructure Group at Mills Oakley and focuses on dispute resolution for clients in the construction industry. With nearly 30 years’ experience in legal practice, he is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution including litigation, expert determination, mediation, arbitration and adjudication. Greg uses legal processes to full effect to achieve strategic outcomes for clients. His extensive experience acting for a wide range of industry participants including principals, contractors, consultants, insurers and liquidators gives him rare insights into how best to resolve construction disputes. Greg regularly deals with a wide range of issues arising on construction projects and is accustomed to handling complex claims relating to delays; variations; defects; latent conditions; payment disputes; termination; professional negligence; building products (including combustible cladding); QBCC licensing issues; subcontractors’ charges; intellectual property issues; calls on bank guarantees; and in drafting and structuring settlements in building and construction disputes.Greg has been involved in many adjudications and in challenges to adjudication decisions and is highly experienced in security of payment issues.Greg regularly lectures on construction law topics for the Civil Contractors Federation (Qld).Greg has acted in relation to major construction projects including the Queensland Children’s Hospital, Gold Coast Light Rail, Cross River Rail, Wembley Stadium in London, major commercial developments and mining and coal seam gas projects.Greg is conscious that clients expect not only high-quality advice and representation but timely service and cost management.Greg has been described in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as ‘one of the best in the Brisbane market’ and as ‘detailed, easy to work with’.
