I spent 28 years in public education as a strong advocate for students. Throughout my career, I was a classroom teacher, a counselor, elementary principal, high school principal and a district middle school director. I enlisted in the Kentucky Army National Guard out of high school and spent 21 years serving my state and country. I retired in 2008 as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves. In 2021, I retired from public education and was hired as the Deputy Director of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. Over the years, I have developed a strong sense of leadership abilities and have always felt I led with servant leadership, always involving important stakeholders with students and retirees as the primary focus of my decision.
