Greg is a proud North Queensland local. Raised in the small country town of Ayr in a close-knit family of ten, his firm belief in the value of community and relationships is embedded in his design and project leadership. Inspired by great architects like Frank Lloyd Wright and Glen Murcutt, Greg recognises that successful design is built on a deep understanding of people and purpose. He invests in creating authentic partnerships with clients and stakeholders, engaging in genuine dialogue to understand all parties on a personal level, as well as their needs and expectations. This allows Greg to get to the heart of every project, work through any constraints and create a sense of shared ownership over design outcomes. Greg balances his community focus with a global perspective. He has experienced the raw beauty of New Zealand, Bali, Hawaii and Japan, as well as Australian coastal and country landscapes. Each location affords insight into what makes a building, space or public realm successful, and a renewed appreciation for the interplay between design, culture and climactic conditions. Through a rigorous process of research, exploration, testing and refinement, Greg develops appropriate, innovative and sustainable design solutions. Always seeking to elevate his design practice, Greg’s philosophy is to collaborate, learn, adapt and grow. He is a dedicated coach and mentor to his teams and finds equal value in leveraging the wisdom of others. He is committed to extending knowledge and best practice as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, member of the Property Council’s Townsville committee, and a frequent state awards juror.
