My principal responsibility is to foment commerce and investments between Spain and the USA. My main areas of commercial expertise include (but are not limited to) Information Technology/Telecommunications, the Motion Picture Industry and Consumer Goods. While overseeing a team of International Trade Analysts, my principal objective is to assist Spanish corporations in establishing their operations in the United States and in identifying and creating strategic alliances in this country. The promotional aspect of my position mainly involves executive producing the Pavilion of Spain at numerous international trade shows all over the United States, producing international Investment and Partnering Forums to create, facilitate and/or strengthen commercial relations between Spain and the United States, organizing and overseeing trade missions to and from Spain and lastly, speaking on commercial opportunities in the U.S. at various seminars, trade shows and similar events in Spain and the United States.Other responsibilities include working closely with the United States government entities that regulate commerce in California (and at the federal level), always with the ultimate goal of promoting commerce between the two countries. Another substantial part of my responsibilities includes writing analytical market studies on current US commercial markets for corporations in Spain that contract the Trade Commission’s consulting services. I also work closely with numerous startups from Spain (at various stages of development), helping them find strategic investment, commercial or technological partners in the USA.
