Standup Comedian, Broadcaster, Podcaster, Writer, Keynote Speaker, M.C
CurrentI won a partial scholarship to study Journalism and Literature at the University of Southern Queensland in 1993. I started performing stand-up comedy there and after two years quit my degree to devote my full energies to becoming a professional comedian. I had my first paid job as a comic on my nineteenth birthday, 31/12/95. I got my first radio job writing for Triple M Brisbane at the age 21 in 1997. I wrote jokes and sketches as well as station imaging and promos. I did character voices and impressions as well as occasionally appearing as myself on the breakfast show. In 1995 at age 24 I was invited to perform is one of five acts in an Australian Showcase at the Iconic Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles. In 1999 I appeared on every Australian free to air network as well as Foxtel’s Comedy Channel. In the early 2000’s I was the booker and resident M.C. of The Dockside Comedy Bar and the Albion Comedy Club. In 2007 I stepped up to being a host of Triple M Brisbane’s breakfast show The Cage. During my time hosting that show I also made multiple appearances on The Project and one memorable live cross with British TV for the first day of the Ashes. I met and made fun of four Australian Prime Ministers to their face, had a Subway sandwich named after me and got to go for a ride in a blimp. After fourteen years with Triple M Brisbane Breakfast, a very long time to be in capital city commercial radio, let alone one city, one station and one time slot, that relationship came to an end. Unusually for radio I was given warning and allowed to say goodbye on air, rather than being escorted out by security. Since then I have performed in comedy venues all through Asia and Oceania. I have ghost written a book, and worked on a TV project with the co-writer/co-director of Happy Feet Two. I am available for corporate, event, club and festival comedy performances. I am available to consult in the writing and performing of comedy shows. I am available for radio, pods and TV spots.
