Part of the Senior Team tasked with standing up a temporary hospital as part of the Covid-19 response in NHS Scotland.

I led a major portfolio of work that involved NHS Boards working collaboratively to plan and deliver strategic programmes that will transform care within Health and Social Care in Scotland. I was accountable for a wide ranging programme with key themes of collaboration, sustainable workforce, digital service redesign, efficiencies and transformation, with varied focuses including Finance, Mental Health, Property and Procurement.

Senior leadership role with accountability for various services, departments, portfolios and strategic programmes.

Led a large department which provided the full range of IT services for key national applications across NHS Scotland. With 100 staff and a budget of £10 million per annum I was responsible for critical national clinical applications used by a combined user base of 25,000 people.

Using programme management and delivery skills I coordinated a portfolio of strategic and highly visible projects, ensuring that projects were delivered to time, quality and budget requirements.• Accountable for delivery of a suite of applications to 900 GP practices (circa 20,000 users) across Scotland• Responsible for the full software lifecycle, including consultancy, business analysis, development, testing, release and support, which was provided by 70 staff and had a budget of over £5 million per annum.• Led on stakeholder engagement and communications, representing the organisation on numerous governance bodies and national working groups.• Delivered IT capability (hardware, software and infrastructure) to all Dental practices across Scotland. This involved extensive customer liaison in agreeing high level objectives and benefits with health boards and Dental Management Groups, management of third parties to deliver the services and agreeing business cases with the Scottish Government regarding funding for the whole Programme.• Led a team of project managers and business analysts to deliver disparate and often conflicting objectives through intelligent assignment of resources to deliver within customer expectations, ensuring that programme objectives and benefits were delivered across the range of projects.

• Accountable for all testing processes, budget and quality criteria for key clinical and business applications. • Project management of multiple projects and managing customer relationships.• Successful management of a very busy test team who were involved in many disparate projects with critical demands to meet deadlines within high quality standards.

Setup and led a test team to provide automated and manual testing and quality assurance of wireless mobile applications. Working with teams based in sites in England and Holland I agreed working processes to ensure streamlined delivery of software from design to delivery.

Setup and led a Test Team to test various web and data based applications, including agreement of company wide processes and extensive implementation work on customer sites.

Led a test team to provide detailed technical testing and quality assurance of telephony products. Collaborated with fellow Test Leads and managers of other teams across global sites to ensure the use of common processes and tools.
