Gregory Thomson was appointed Senior Media Advisor to the Leader of the Opposition David Crisafulli MP in November 2020, after joining the LNP media team in 2018 in the same role with Deb Frecklington MP.It followed 11 years as a television news and sports reporter/presenter at Sky News, Fox Sports News, Nine Network, WIN Television and Southern Cross Ten.Gregory has extensive live television experience in the studio and on the road covering news of the day, politics, natural disasters and sport in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney.In 2016 he reported LIVE from Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic Games at Sky News, co hosted weekend breakfast news and presented morning sports bulletins on Fox Sports News channel 500.As a video journalist, Gregory has strong shooting and editing skills, can write short form and longer format news stories fit-for-immediate broadcast under intense deadlines.In 2015 he spent a year reporting at A Current Affair in Melbourne.He began his on camera career aged 19 at Southern Cross Ten, writing and presenting news updates for regional Australia, before getting his first taste of LIVE television news, at WIN TV Canberra as sports editor and presenter.Gregory grew up in a proud military family and graduated from Padua College Brisbane in 2005 as Captain. He is also passionate about mental health awareness.
