Developed, conducted, and reconstructed system performance test plans for passive acoustic processing systems. These tests required the ability to interpret acoustic energy to accurately detect, classify and localize various platforms including U.S. and NATO submarines. Objectives of these tests were to identify system capabilities for detection sensitivity and bearing accuracy. Developed Operational Guidelines for a shore based passive acoustic system using information gleaned from more than 12 months of on-site operational test and evaluation. Provided operational training to fleet personnel at IUSS facilities in conjunction with system installations. Responsible for developing the OMI Commonality Guidelines document for use by all IUSS related systems.
Conducted detailed acoustic analysis and event reconstruction of passive sonar engagements by deployed assets in tactical development exercises. Conceived, authored, implemented and supervised three professional courses, from the basic operator level to the senior analyst. Authored the Plotter's Course at NAVFAC Brawdy Wales. Generated lesson plan and instructor guides, initiated and performed formal training of acoustic analysis data.
