Greg Weykamp has over twenty years of experience in the planning and design of the public realm, with an emphasis on implementation of sustainable built landscapes and urban waterfront environments. Over the course of his sixteen year career with EDAW, later known as AECOM Design + Planning, Mr. Weykamp worked on projects around the world from offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Sydney, Australia; Denver, Colorado; and Chicago, Illinois. During that time Mr. Weykamp worked on internationally significant projects including Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, the Olympic Village for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, and redevelopment of Denver’s Stapleton Airport.In 2007, Mr. Weykamp moved to Chicago to establish the landscape architecture practice for EDAW. As Principal and Director of Landscape Architecture and Planning, Mr. Weykamp was responsible for the award and leadership of projects ranging from lakefront and park master planning to the ongoing construction of 31st Street Harbor, a new 1,000 slip marina with a construction budget approaching $95 million. Other significant projects include Gateway Harbor, a 250 slip marina adjacent to Navy Pier with a construction budget of $55 million, and the public realm for the Masdar Headquarters project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In 2010, in order to focus his time more fully on clients and projects, Mr. Weykamp left AECOM Design + Planning to co-found Edgewater Resources with longtime collaborator Ron Schults. Over the years, Ron and Greg have worked together on more than a dozen projects for clients both home and abroad. Edgewater Resources was founded with the goal of enhancing the water’s edge of communities around the world, with a focus on planning and design solutions based in economic reality.
