About Greg Whitney

Prior to joining Alford Group as Vice President, Greg Whitney held leadership positions in the nonprofit sector for a variety of philanthropic organizations in the Seattle area. Greg has over 30 years of hands-on nonprofit management experience in both operations as an Executive Director and in fundraising management leading teams in major gifts, planned giving, annual campaigns and events. He has deep knowledge of fundraising proven practices, relationship building and collaborative leadership.A few of Greg's accomplishments include: overseeing operations for three community YMCA's as a YMCA Branch Executive Director; building major gift programs for Food Lifeline and Uplift Northwest - tripling their major gift support in three years; establishing a planned giving program for the YMCA Greater Seattle securing over 250 new legacy society members with expectancies over $15 million; serving as a YMCA National Trainer of Trainers, and has been a Board Chair for the Washington Planned Giving Council and his local Rotary Club, and received the 2024 Mentor of the Year award from AFP Advancement Northwest.
