In January 2019, Missouri Rehabilitation and Employment Group (MORE Group) joined forces with MERS/Goodwill (St. Louis). MERS/Goodwill provides a wide array of services to a diversified group of people, including persons with disabilities, persons with persons economic disadvantages. The organization is a leader among nonprofits that gives back to its community in many ways. We assist individuals in the development of vocational goals and provide job development support to individuals seeking, obtaining and retaining competitive employment. Our service area consists of ten counties in central Missouri: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Gasconade, Howard, Moniteau, Osage and Randolph. Working at the Institute was my first exposure to serving people with disabilities and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. It's an exceptional organization. I learned from excellent leadership and established many personal and professional relationships. I started as workshop supervisor and eventually became a workshop manager. I returned to school, obtained an MA in Guidance and Counseling and worked as a counselor for several years. In time, I was promoted to Supervisor of Counseling Services.
