When I figured out how to do that as an intern NCR gave me a full-time position in Competitive Analysis. For about 2 years I studied everyone else in the industry and that laid the groundwork and relationships for what we do today in being analysts for the retail industry. After the competitive analysis I was a product manager with NCR that introduced wireless POS and worked on the 7052 POS Platform and Nice/DynaKey. Worked with some great people on those programs. In 1993 after NCR canceled the NICE software-only program, Sensormatic Electronics gave me an offer I couldn't refuse and I went there to work on the Deactivation projects for their EAS line Ultra*Max. I was fortunate to be the Product Development Manager for the Rapid Pad II which ended up being a $100 Million product for the company in about 2 years. In the Spring of 1996 I started IHL Consulting Group, a company that is like the AC Nielson of Retail technology. We track who uses what technologies in retail and then advise retailers and technology companies on their next moves.Specialties: Our company acts as content experts in market sizing and analysis of technologies in the retail vertical.
