My main work areas include supporting identification and implementation of science-based knowledge and continued improvement of best practices through our standard. I work toward building strong relationship networks and provide increased outreach through workshops and grant-giving mechanisms. I support showcasing SFI's conservation metric alignment, integration of tools, and support communication on the impact of our conservation initiative together with the SFI Team.

Collaboratively working to develop a program of work for The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) involvement with silviculture work across the Southern Blue Ridge (SBR) with a focus on public lands. Writing and implementing forest management plans on 2,500 acres of Conservancy owned land. Working collaboratively with regional partners to develop and provide input on forest management projects on 6 National Forests. Authoring grants to further fund innovative silviculture projects that lead to a climate-resilient forest. Present information to a wide audience including donors, peers, and staff to highlight silvicultural practices in the SBR. Participate on prescribed fires with the TNC as-needed burn crew.

Teaching Forest Measurements and Forest Management courses to undergraduate students. Acting as professional coach for students interested in Natural Resource Management.

Responsible for development and implementation of vegetation management projects on 300,000 acres of National Forest land. Oversees, prepares and conducts forest inventories, timber stand improvement activities, designs and implements timber cruises, develops appraisal and contracts, and evaluates of post-harvest regeneration. Provides GIS support to project work including innovative use of LIDAR into project development. Participates on the Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT) and completing required NEPA documentation including categorical exclusions. Manages inventory and spatial data collection and input into Forest Service databases. Identifies and documents cultural resources in support of Forest Service Heritage Professionals. Creates and delivers educational programs for local school groups. Represented the Eastern Region on the Forest Products Solutions Team for Timber Sale Layout. Serves in fire management organization on initial attack hand crews.

Leading volunteer workdays and practicing sustainable agricultural techniques at the Duke University Campus Farm. An education focused working farm that provides diverse opportunities for Duke students and feeds the local community on a productive half acre.

Conducted feasibility analysis for urban conservation work within North Carolina using group decision making and geospatial analysis. Developed a prioritization of 15 NC cities through a multi-criteria decision analysis developed through stakeholder conversations. Within two cities, created parcel level prioritization of properties for conservation and restoration.

Event coordination and assistant to the instructor of Silviculture.

Developed a comprehensive forest management plan for the long term restoration of a longleaf pine forest. Used the Nature Conservancy resiliency data to successfully apply for Open Space Institute Resilient Landscape grants protecting 200 acres of ecologically important properties using ArcGIS to illustrate their importance and incorporating extensive research to narrate their ecological resilience.

Responsible for the research and development of Environmental Resource Inventories for Municipalities which wish to become more environmentally sustainable.

Second in command. I am responsible for sales, employee training, social media, shipping and receiving, merchandising and superb customer service.

Environmental Conservation Volunteers work with their communities on environmental awareness and action. Volunteers work with diverse groups to help them acquire the motivation, skills, habits, and confidence to implement responsible environmental actions in their communities. Volunteer project activities include: working in local schools to increase awareness of, and education on,'environmental issues with teachers and students; establishing community and school-based gardens, reforestation, climate change mitigation and adaption,soil conservation, and the promotion of sustainable tourism as an alternative income generating activity.

Responsibilities included assisting the Refuge Biologists with various wildlife surveys including radio telemetry tracking, live trapping, waterfowl banding, mist-netting and vitals record keeping. The work also included general maintenance such as trail cleaning, brush clearing and blind construction.
