Instigator and one of the creators of the Boise Blues Society. Served as the first president and newsletter editor/publisher for 3 years. Worked closely with the late Doug Vander Boegh to obtain non-profit 501(c3) status.

General software product development for the, then new, IBM PC. Most successful product was the first commercially viable DOS shell, 1Dir+. Later co-wrote a Fractal (Mandelbrot and Julia sets) generation and display program (FracTools) and a MIDI animated spin-off version (FracTunes) that was featured as part of the Idaho Centennial celebration in Boise in 1990.

General accounting software. Key projects included a unique insurance rating package (Fast-Freddie) for Higgins and Rutledge Insurance and a residential energy audit system for Morrison-Knudsen

Boon-doggle as logging helicopter mechanic while (unknowingly) waiting for the microcomputer to appear

Started as courier/computer operator, moved into programmer trainee position after demonstrating an aptitude for computers. Mentored in Assembly language programming by a number of amazing programmers. Eventually wrote several device drivers and a minimal operating system.

Honorably discharged after serving with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade in Viet Nam
