Responsible for engineering design improvements on the worlds best selling, four seat, personal piston aircraft

 Responsible for leading multi-functional teams in the design of the doors and pressurized windows of the production jet aircraft. Each design had several unique features such as a cabin windshield with a special, thinner center pillar which maximizes pilot view, or a structural door which cut twenty pounds from the weight of the surrounding airframe structure. Developed a system to install and quickly change out stabilizing flight surfaces on prototype jet aircraft.

 Designed and helped fabricate spin/stall parachute recovery system attach structure for flying prototype jet aircraft. Design weighed considerably less than other proposed configurations. Redesigned and carried through to installation rudder pedals, as well as several other components of the flight control systems for prototype jet.

 Instrumental on several Kaizen teams through development, implementation of lean production work cells. Responsible for redesign and initial production of Bach Stradivarius trombones and flugelhorns at our Elkhorn, Wisconsin facility.  Designed, prototyped and tested a new marching tuba for our Eastlake, Ohio facility.  Implemented the practice within Leblanc of designing new products in 3D CAD. Brought Pro/Engineer onboard in 1995 by justifying tooling costs based on solid models rather than traditional hand work. Designed a tuba with virtuoso Harvey Phillips and oversaw production of two professional concert tubas. Pioneered efforts to design musical instruments using computational methods, simulating the acoustics of brass instruments and improving them through an iterative design… Show more  Implemented the practice within Leblanc of designing new products in 3D CAD.
