Sole QA engineer over all software in company. Responsible for ensuring all checks and balances are in place for design engineers to adhere to all parts of our software development process. We incorporate processes to be compliant with CMMI level 3. Activities include the following:- Ensure requirements are written to be understandable and testable- Work with designers to write tests for tasks and stories- Critical to system setup and end-to-end testing, sometimes being one of only 2 or 3 people that can operate the whole system.- Perform tests on Story level requirements and incorporate those into regression test suites- Responsible for understanding all projects and being able to integrate all components for testing- Perform field testing of prototypes alongside developers- Lead engineer for CMMI level 3 adherence, preparing for all appraisals- Driving biweekly process improvement meetings - Identified and installed ideal test management software for company- Developed and administered training for other employees- Helped perform many enhancements to our Jira process by implementing plug-ins and scripting to automate validators which kept us on track for adherence to the CMMI model.

Senior Software Verification Engineer in charge of protocol and system testing of Policy for 3GPP: - Write and perform testing on Gx, Gxa, Rx, and Sh interfaces of Diameter Protocol. - Help develop the performance and system test plan for the Policy product - Team Lead for Policy group. - Participated in demos of product to Verizon. - Lead engineer for traffic testing of this new product in preparation for delivery to VerizonSenior Software Verification Engineer in charge of protocol and system testing of NextGen HLR Router for the Eagle Product Line: - Write and perform testing on SCTP, M3UA, and SCCP layers of the SS7 protocol - Help develop the performance and system test plan for the HLR Router product - Lead engineer for traffic testing of this new product in preparation for delivery to AT&T Mobility

Performed verification of call processing related protocols on several of Sony Ericsson's handset products. Was put in charge of specific tasks areas and was proficient ienough in 2 weeks to become independent at all tasks. Worked weekly deadlines and helped keep the project on schedule.

In charge of building an audio recording booth to test out conformance and situational tests for Wavecom's m2m products. Also handled various software validation activities. - Built a sound-proof chamber for conformance testing and automobile simulation. - Assembled all recording equipment and setup workstation for digital recording & editing. - Investigated and recommended several hardware design circuits for microphone pre-amps.

Asked to move over to an integration test role due to specific lab skills and knowledge. Led the effort to run a suite of integration testcases. - Developed end to end tests to verify speech path on a new software package. - Constructed the only lab setup in the company capable of testing the end-to-end voice quality on the new software loads. - Self-taught on testing tools that others required training for and within 2 weeks was getting constant calls on how to use the tools from others in the company.

Joined team to help identify and fix customer issues related to DSP code interactions between Nortel code and Texas Instrument's code. Also in charge of developing a way to regress software loads for the DSP that came directly from TI. - Developed a DSP regressino testing lab that helped reduce the amount of customer visible problems by approximately 50% over the course of 4-5 months. - Designed an automated modem traffic tool that tests 34 analog modems to help regress DSP loads. - Setup a variety of voice analysis tools set to RTP from both Ottawa and England. These tools were used to help isolate approximately 40% of customer issues.

Hired into this group to bring into service several pieces of equipment sent to the group from Harlow, England. The design group needed several different configurations of the equipment along with a push-button traffic setup so anyone could easily test traffic on their software designs.

Asked to move over from design to the Product Verification group to help out with a product they were unfamiliar with. This was a new line gateway that required different knowledge and skills to setup and operate. Worked daily monitoring 6 different traffic generation devices where all other engineers had at most 3 to monitor.

Asked by manager to help out with driving the integration phase of the software development process, pulling in the pieces from 7 other engineers, and pushing the completion of the phase. - Managed weekly meetings with 4 local and 3 overseas engineers - Took control of integrating all of the test plan documentation. - Assigned test case areas to ensure 100% use of lab resources between local and offshore partners. - Participated in performance testing of software by running an in-house tool called Tornado to assess memory use. Worked with designers and architects to assess memory hogs and determine the actions needed to remove them. - A large area of this testing was related to Capacity and Overload. Utilized past knowledge of traffic generators to help team setup and drive the system into overload, capturing capacity statistics. - Completed integration phase of design cycle 1 week ahead of schedule.

Involved in all areas of the software design process over several different projects using different languages on different platforms. Languages utilized were Protel, Pascal, C and C++. - Development of Next Generation / Succession Network equipmen for performing voice over packet - both VoIP and VoATM. The design was all C++ in an embedded / multi-threaded architecture. I was involved in all areas of design and test of this equipment from start to finish. - Patching - One of the initial designers on one of Nortel's gateway products that learned the patching process from the patching group. Lead and consulted on any patching issue over the following years. Developed training classes for this patching process. - Training - Have developed and taught several training classes over the years involving training for customers and Nortel employees.

Worked in a customer support role to field customer calls and perform initial troubleshooting of software related problems, identifying which design group to involve if necessary.
