About Greg Lincoln

Whether the chips are down or upper management is looking to try something new and unknown, I welcome being the first called in. I embrace high difficultly, budget-constrained challenges that mire the small business landscape and frustrate larger companies and teams. If it is shifting web applications to rich front-end clients, transitioning legacy applications to newer and more economically scaled stacks, launching a brand presence within an impossible timeframe, or nurturing troubled teams to better work and prosper together, my forte is getting it done while bringing the entire team along with me to be engaged and positive about the success.I do not shy from adversity, if I don't know it I'll learn it, and I have a proven track record of never letting down my team and my leadership.

    Vice President, Product & Technology
Defy Media, Inc., Previously Alloy Digital Llc Oct 2013 - Apr 2016
    Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
The merger with Break Media to create Defy Media brought renewed opportunity to refocus efforts on core brands and services owned and operated within the Durham office. The team was tasked with maintaining and growing several additional brands for creative and engineering support, which over the course of 10 months would see two- to five-fold growth in sales and reach. Most recently my engineering team began working on larger projects in tandem with counterparts in our main office. We integrated a large established media brand from an unknown external proprietary platform, transitioning tens of thousands of pieces of rich media and content into our own mixed platform system to meet the varied needs of the company. This endeavor would become the impetus for my leading a team to revisit and retool the content management systems within the company and work to aid management in realizing the importance of better automated and integrated systems.
  • Alloy Digital Llc, Previously Themis Media
    Vice President, Product & Technology
Alloy Digital Llc, Previously Themis Media Nov 2012 - Oct 2013
    Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
With a successful acquisition by Alloy Digital my role expanded to support other technology groups within the broader organization. This new atmosphere provided substantial new challenges to maintain current workload within my groups while assuming those of the supplemental projects as well.In a feat of prowess, record time, and lot hard work, my team integrated a nascent external SaaS API into new local systems in Node.js and Redis to capture and process tens to hundreds of thousands of microevents per minute to serve as the backbone for a large site installation's "gamification" initiative.

    Vice President, Production
Themis Media, A Division Of Themis Group, Inc. Jun 2008 - Nov 2012
    Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
With the success of The Escapist it was decided to consolidate all company efforts behind online media. With my proven record in managing products and associated pipelines I was promoted to oversee production for the company at large. In this role I was able to help clarify and simplify our production pipelines between editorial, creative, and engineering to best ensure timely and efficient delivery of short- and long-term projects, while expanding our offerings and scale within existing staffing.Given my diverse background the company was able to consolidate its middle management tier by shifting the technology team under my production umbrella, offering a cohesive and agile structure for both engineering and creative services.
  • Tap Interactive, A Division Of Themis Group, Inc.
    Director Of Client Services
Tap Interactive, A Division Of Themis Group, Inc. Jun 2005 - Jun 2008
    Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
When WarCry's parent company looked to expand its consultancy into digital marketing, I was promoted to head up the new agency, pairing my innate leadership with my background within marketing and creative communications. We carved our own niche within the videogames interactive marketing space to enable clients access to top-notch web and social media presences, without the price tag of larger and less agile firms.TAP created strong value for clients who could only leverage small budgets through alternative cost centers, seeing hugely successful direct consumer campaigns that saw up to 10 times more reach than was estimated. For one such effort we were even recognized for a Best Interactive Promotional Game by the MI6 Game Marketing Conference, beating out leading titles and titanic agencies for the honor.TAP was also directly involved in the creation of the then one-of-a-kind videogames website The Escapist, for which I created the persistent branding and aided in the vision and quality for which the publication was known.

As the director I worked directly with these staffers to enable their requirements, as well as to keep the greater needs of the company in mind.I was responsible for securing the network and improving the hardware performance by as much as 500%, retooling those services and systems to best meet the needs of the site applications.
  • Southwest Strategies
