Ever since I was a little kid, designing, building and testing new creations has been my passion. I still remember building some pretty crazy creations with my father, including a turtle shell boat. The ability to see a design come to life fascinates me. Now, I have used this same energy to apply my CAD and design knowledge to create a 3D printed RC airplane in my free time. Over the past few month of the quarantine, I have worked with my little brother to design and produce over 5000 3D printed ear bands to distribute to first responders. It was rewarding to be able to provide to the front line workers, along the way I also learned more about the manufacturing process through my own trial and error; sometimes having to go back to the drawing board to fix an unforeseen issue in the manufacturing process. My passion for mechanical design lead my to pursue a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Kansas, where I will graduate in the spring (May 2021). I have studied different classes that have helped me improve as an engineer. My time at the University of Kansas has helped me learn who I am as a person, I learned how much there is to learn, everyday it seems like there is something new that is fascinating to me. Now, as I look forward to my graduation day, I am excited to be able to apply the knowledge I have learned at KU to my major, which has been a passion of mine since I was a kid.
