MERC is a prestigious organization located within Framingham State University's campus. MERC employees collect economic data and then present this data to surrounding communities through newsletters and formal presentations. The Mayor of Framingham among many other hardworking successful people attend these meetings and request MERC's newsletters. Economics, finance, and accounting students who earn high grades while attending Framingham State University, are given the opportunity to work for MERC as a paid student intern. I gained training with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Piktochart while working for MERC. I collected data pertaining to unemployment, employment, costs of living estimates, and examined census data. This experience provided me with hands on training and a better understanding of how economic data is collected and analyzed.
