Ultimately, by working with the management information systems department I was able to streamline the inter-regional billing process and eliminate 2 full time positions.I managed a team of 53 contract employees on an ERISA special project in regard to the clients University of California and TRW. The focus of this project was to re-create the billings for the past 7 years for these clients. The difficulty in this project was that all of the data was stored on microfilm, not in a data warehouse. We contracted to have the microfilm printed and then the contractors sorted through approximately 30 million pages of pager to locate the specific pages that related to the billing of the two clients. Ultimately, we were able to locate 87% of the documents. It was determined that the remaining pages were either not transferred to microfilm or the microfilms that contained them were misplaced by the storage facility. This project lasted approximately 7 months.
