As the third employee at BlackLine, I've discovered a passion for leadership and the cultivation of a culture of empowerment and innovation. Starting as a back-end developer, then becoming Team Lead (front-end) and eventually Director in 2011, I've managed the development of BlackLine’s SaaS application and overseen the organization’s massive growth, including scaling the technology, organization and processes across multiple, international teams. In 2019, after leading the Engineering team through the BlackLine IPO and post-IPO growth, much of my focus was on process and organization building. Anxious to dig deep into newer technology, I decided to take a break from management and go back to hands-on development work.Since then, my focus has been on technological initiatives that move the needle for BlackLine, including cloud and mobile.When I'm not eyeballs deep in technology, I'm playing with my kid or recording records with my band.
