I am currently a fourth-year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at UNC Greensboro in the Interactions and Relationships Lab (IRL) under the direction of Dr. Michaeline Jensen. My research focuses on youth development at the intersection of digital technology/social media use, sexual and gender minority health and identity, social and romantic relationships, and risk taking behaviors (e.g., substance use and risky sexual behavior). Clinically, I specialize in gender-affirming care of children and adolescents with a particular focus on chronic illnesses (e.g., sickle cell, diabetes) and adolescent substance misuse. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches with my clients to help them develop adaptive coping and mindfulness strategies to better manage their chronic illness. I aspire to pursue a career in academia where I will be able to continue my research, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and supervise clinical cases.
