Oversees all aspects of the NOC and responsible for the effective operation of the daily flight schedule. Ensures operational control of all Southwest Airlines flights. Assures “on the day” airline network reliability; on-time performance, completion factor, and safe, compliant, and reliable operations while producing maximum customer satisfaction and maintaining low costs. Assures effective NOC response to all irregular operations. Ensure the NOC is coordinating with all other necessary departments, Stations, ATC facilities, airport authorities and others to solve flight movement issues; including improvement of network flows, reduction of ATC imposed delays, mitigation of delays, effective use of all recovery tools (Spares, Sword, Cancel, Crews, etc.) Ensure the NOC effectively utilizes company resources to aggressively mitigate delays and recovers from disruptions. Supervise the professional performance of all NOC Employees on shift: including but not limited to Dispatch, Chiefs, SODs, CSC, Flifo, MET, MX Control, and Crew Scheduling. Communicates company and departmental mission, goals, performance standards and operational philosophies to NOC employees. Participates in the development and implementation of the Emergency Response Plan, representing the NOC and ensuring the NOC is prepared to report on all pertinent information. Has the authority to establish and modify policies and procedures pertaining to the NOC.

Responsible for airline operations control and the effective direction of SOC resources to assure a safe, compliant, efficient and reliable operation. Departments overseen include: SOC Duty Managers, Flight Dispatch Training and Standards, International and Domestic Dispatch Operations, Aircraft Routing, Network Management/ATC and Airfield Operations, Passenger Movement, Flight Following, and the Civil Reserve Air Fleet-Defense Security Service approved security program.

Provided oversight of the Network Manager organization. Acted as the company liaison with FAA ATC facilities, Airport Authorities and represented AirTran at industry and FAA CDM meetings. Maximized AirTran’s effective use of the National Airspace System. Developed and oversaw the Civil Reserve Air Fleet program and Defense Security Service Facility Clearance. Acted as interim Manager of Aircraft Routing (NOV 2004 to OCT 2005) and Crew Scheduling (April 2006 to June 2006).
